I came across this article in The Guardian the other day that looked at the top ten trends of Milan Menswear Fashion Week. I have never really paid attention to menswear trends before, since my boyfriend would never wear what I tell him to anyways. However, with the prospects of him joining me in New York in a couple years, he has been relying on my sense of what is on trend to plan his wardrobe accordingly.
Leopard?
There are certainly some trends I can fully endorse. Blazers are always a classic way to make any look sophisticated, and I love it when men wear sweaters. However, I am not so sure on my feelings about plaid all over or a leopard print trench. I tip my hat to any man who can pull it off though! But the most surprising trend that I really fell for was the use of velvet and leather. Men do not get to play with textures often, and can you imagine cuddling up to a velvet suit at the theatre? What do you think about these trends? Something to try, or are they only meant for the runway?
I'm Madysen, born and raised in Nebraska but now living out my dreams in New York City. I moved here to go to Columbia, but living in New York has become so much more to me. This blog is a space where I can share my experiences of reconciling my midwestern upbringing with the life I live in the city. But even bigger than that, this blog serves as a space where I can try to understand where I fit into the larger social world, where I want to go in life, and how I want to go about pursuing all of these endeavors.
