It's stopped snowing in New York, and the world is beautiful. I'm planning on going to the park later today with some friends and will take more extensive photos, but here is a picture of the snowman Cindy and I built last night.

It was her first real snowfall and the happiness she felt was contagious. I felt like a child again. I haven't made a snowman since I was a little kid. I didn't know how happy this snow would make me. I just got so depressed with the weather, it would just snow and melt right away. The world was so damp and cold. But now it's sunny and bright and snowy and the world is happy again!

Meet The Author

I'm Madysen, born and raised in Nebraska but now living out my dreams in New York City. I moved here to go to Columbia, but living in New York has become so much more to me. This blog is a space where I can share my experiences of reconciling my midwestern upbringing with the life I live in the city. But even bigger than that, this blog serves as a space where I can try to understand where I fit into the larger social world, where I want to go in life, and how I want to go about pursuing all of these endeavors.
