...you stay inside all day, studying, sulking in the depression caused by living by florescent light alone. The only thing in the world you're looking forward to is the trek to the dining halls you are always complaining about. So what's so different about today?
Snow.
Some people hate it. Sometimes I hate it.
(but only in New York)
Today's snow reminds me that in less than a week I'll be home, with everyone I love.
And while the snow falls down on this noisy city that not even a white blanket can quiet, I dream of that Nebraska snow I hope and pray I get to see this year. It's the snow that insulates that little patch of earth from the rest of the world, from reality. The snow that silences everything, even your thoughts, until all you can hear is the accumulation of flakes slowly landing upon the ground, and the soft crunch as you trek into the silence, looking up into that dark grey sky and smiling.
Yeah it's cold. But sometimes when you feel the most numb you realize how alive you really are.
