New Years Resolution

I have a lot of bad habits.  I send too lengthy of texts, I analyze every little thing about myself, and I really like to tell people how much they mean to me.  Perhaps these aren't the worst habits out there, but they can drive me a little insane.

So my New Years Resolution is to stop regretting what I say.  Not only over texts where I feel like oversharing my feelings, but in life.  I shouldn't revise myself after the fact.  I shouldn't feel guilty about telling people what's on my mind.  My thoughts, opinions, and feelings are just as valid as anyone else's.

So that's the goal for the year.  No regrets on my words or actions, just because I worry about how people might take them.  Because this is me; take it or leave it.

Meet The Author

I'm Madysen, born and raised in Nebraska but now living out my dreams in New York City. I moved here to go to Columbia, but living in New York has become so much more to me. This blog is a space where I can share my experiences of reconciling my midwestern upbringing with the life I live in the city. But even bigger than that, this blog serves as a space where I can try to understand where I fit into the larger social world, where I want to go in life, and how I want to go about pursuing all of these endeavors.
