Maintaining Privacy

I've always been the type of girl who overshares EVERY detail with literally everyone.  If a boy said something cute, I would have to tell all of my friends.  A great dinner must be instagrammed.  Even this blog is a perfect example of it.

It never was because I thought my life was perfect.  In fact, I did it for the exact opposite reasons.  I never thought my life was good enough, and I constantly needed other people to validate my inklings of happiness.

But lately there's been a lot in my life I don't want to share.  There are major events and decisions that only a single person knows.

Oh god, this is probably the most frustrating blog post to read.  And for that I apologize.

But the takeaway message?  All of this self discovery lately has paid off.  My own opinion of a situation is enough to make it worthwhile.

The blog posts have been sparse because of this.  Because I don't want to shout every little detail off of the rooftops...I mean, I live in a city of 8 million people!  But don't worry.  When the time comes to share, I will definitely fill everyone in.

Now back to the regular less-vague programming!

Meet The Author

I'm Madysen, born and raised in Nebraska but now living out my dreams in New York City. I moved here to go to Columbia, but living in New York has become so much more to me. This blog is a space where I can share my experiences of reconciling my midwestern upbringing with the life I live in the city. But even bigger than that, this blog serves as a space where I can try to understand where I fit into the larger social world, where I want to go in life, and how I want to go about pursuing all of these endeavors.
